HOSTS pairs a student who needs help in reading with a
community member who wants to make a difference in a
student's life. With help from volunteer mentors, students receive the extra attention
and encouragement they need to be better readers and better students.

Student success and community involvement are core values at Brandon Elementary.
In order to foster these core values, Brandon Elementary began over a decade ago
using the HOSTS Mentoring Program for language arts and reading.

Community member volunteers include parents, business partners, cross-age tutors,
adult community members, college students and district staff members who are willing
to devote 30 minutes, one day per week, to mentor a child.

Find out how a small commitment from you
can have an enormous impact on a child.
